The Dianella Community Pantry is proud to serve the local community each week, opening its doors every Saturday from 8.30am to 10.00am at the Our Lady’s Assumption Catholic Church.

What began as a simple initiative in 2025 has grown into a vital community service, made possible through the generosity, dedication and collaboration of many incredible supporters.

A Network of Generous Supporters

The Dianella Community Pantry thrives thanks to the ongoing support of our valued sponsors and donors.  We are especially grateful to OzHarvest, Frank Paolino MLA, Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), Muffin Break Dianella and Bakers Delight Dianella for their ongoing donations and support.

We have also been fortunate to receive generous donations from within our local community, including Spudshed Morley, Coles Dianella, Safe Haven Essential Packs and parishioners from Our Lady’s Assumption Catholic Church, as well as many other community members.

More Than Just a Community Pantry

In addition to our weekly food service, we host monthly market days, offering not only food but clothing and other essential items.  These events provide another opportunity for the community to come together and support one another, with all goods generously donated.

Making A Real Impact

The Dianella Community Pantry has been proudly supported by Frank Paolino MLA, whose commitment to our community has been invaluable since the very beginning.  His contributions have included providing a much-needed fridge/freezer, as well as supporting the design and printing of our promotional materials and social media outreach.

We were also honoured to welcome Jennifer Keen, State Manager of OzHarvest, alongside Frank Paolino, during their visit in December.  Their support helped shine a spotlight on the Dianella Community Pantry through social media, increasing awareness of our mission.

Our ongoing sponsors include: OzHarvest, Frank Paolino MLA, Bakers Delight Dianella, Muffin Break Dianella, Our Lady’s Assumption Primary School, parishioners from Our Lady’s Assumption Catholic Church and generous members of the public.

Between July and December 2025 alone, Oz Harvest estimated that the Dianella Community Pantry distributed the equivalent of approximately 11,000 meals to those in need.

Powered By Volunteers

At the heart of the Dianella Community Pantry is our amazing team of volunteers.  Each week, dedicated team members:

  • Collect food from OzHarvest and local donors
  • Sort, pack and prepare items for distribution
  • Set up the Parish Hall for service
  • Assist on Saturday mornings to ensure everything runs smoothly

Their commitment and compassion are what make the Dianella Community Pantry possible.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support the Dianella Community Pantry has received from sponsors, donors, volunteers and the wider community.  As we look to the future, we hope to continue to grow our reach and impact – supporting even more people across the Dianella community.

Together, we are making a difference.
