Dianella Plaza secures Development Approval for Stage 1 Redevelopment

An exciting new chapter is ahead for Dianella Plaza, with Development Approval now secured for the first stage of redevelopment works at the centre.

The approved plans will see a significant refresh of Dianella Plaza, including a new, relocated Coles supermarket, approximately 25 new or refurbished retail tenancies including fresh food precinct, improved customer parking and pedestrian access, upgraded centre amenities, landscaping improvements and other refurbishment works throughout the centre.

Having served the local community for more than 50 years, Dianella Plaza has long been a destination for shopping, services and everyday convenience. This next stage represents an important investment in the centre’s future, helping us continue to meet the changing needs of our customers, retailers and community.

What’s Planned at Dianella Plaza:

The approved first stage includes:

  • A new, relocated Coles supermarket and fresh food precinct
  • Approximately 25 new or refurbished retail stores
  • A new 330-bay customer car park off Alexander Drive
  • Improved pedestrian and customer access to the centre
  • Upgraded centre amenities

  • Significant refurbishment works to refresh the overall centre experience

Will parking still be available?

Yes. Customer parking will remain available throughout the redevelopment.

Additionally, a new 330-bay customer car park will be prioritised to be built first, to make it easier for customers to access the centre throughout construction.

Will there be more shops?

Yes. The approved final plans include 25 new or refurbished retail tenancies, expanding the centre’s retail offering and supporting greater customer choice.

What does this mean for Coles?

The approved redevelopment includes a new, relocated Coles supermarket within Dianella Plaza.

The existing Coles supermarket will remain trading throughout the redevelopment whilst the new store is under construction. Further information will be provided as project delivery planning progresses.

When will construction works start?

Works are anticipated to start in the first half of 2027.

Detailed planning for the redevelopment is continuing, including construction timing and staging. We’ll share further information with customers as key project milestones are confirmed.

Will my favourite stores stay open?

Dianella Plaza continues to operate as normal. Any future retailer announcements will be communicated by centre management and individual retailers when appropriate.

Will ALDI be joining Dianella Plaza?

Aldi is not part of the Stage 1 redevelopment project.

Centre Management are aware of the public’s interest in Aldi joining the centre and we continue to take this feedback on board to inform future potential retailers.

The approved redevelopment relates specifically to Dianella Plaza.
